About the Japan Society of Professional Engineers (JSPE)
JSPE is a non-profit organization (NPO) established in Tokyo in September 2000 with the goals of improving the technical level of PE in Japan, enhancing and securing the status of engineers, and establishing their ethical standards (serving health, safety, and welfare).
In August 2001, we signed an affiliation agreement with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and have been advocating the practice and dissemination of Western-style engineering principles, as represented by the NSPE Code of Ethics. In February 2016, we also signed an MOU with the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) with the aim of promoting the acquisition of US professional engineering qualifications.
